41st & Memorial's album You Are Here is a mesmerizing collection of songs that showcase the band's unique blend of indie rock and folk. From the opening track "Stay" to the closing number "Goodbye," the album takes listeners on a journey through a range of emotions and experiences.
The band's intricate guitar work and tight harmonies are on full display throughout the album, and the lyrics are both introspective and relatable. Standout tracks include "The Other Side," an upbeat anthem about overcoming obstacles, and "Lost in Translation," a haunting ballad about the struggle to communicate.
(c) 2005 Bus Stop Music/Preiso Creations. Recorded and mixed by Jason Watson at Icthus Studios in Springdale, AR, and mastered by Justyn Horner, the band 'manna' changed their name to the cross streets in Tulsa, OK where a bus they were on broke down during a youth group trip to G.U.T.Z. Church during Halloween, 2004. A man from the church they helped out at gave them a large amount of money to produce an album, and this was the result. Brandon Reed had left the band by this time.
You Are Here is a triumph for 41st & Memorial, and a must-listen for fans of indie rock and folk music. The band's unique sound and thoughtful lyrics make this album a standout in a crowded genre, and a promising sign of things to come.
