One of my fondest memories of my dad, (who was a jazz drummer in the L.A. area), was listening to this tune on "Live at the Pershing" sitting with him and seeing it bring him to tears. This tune, THAT version, in THAT room, THAT night... Sublime. Check it out!

I have listened to all the versions I could find of Ahmad Jamal playing this . this is different and also very good. all of them are.. Poinciana is my favorite jazz selection. and my favorite performance is at Olympia Paris.
