You'll want to like this album, more than you actually do; but it says a great deal about Aretha that there's anything to like here at all. The different producers create an overall patchy sound, which is neither consistent or engaging. Aretha remained timeless, and never should have subjected herself to cheap-gag production of the day. Dated and sadly forgettable, where the highlights are the most straightforward interpretations, "People" and "Midnight Train to Georgia," and a funky take on Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U."

After hearing her sing it live numerous times it makes me wonder why they bothered with autotune on the album version. Yes, her voice isn't what it was but she can still sing her ass off.
