Austin Wood and His Missouri Swingsters have delivered a delightful collection of swing tunes on their eponymous album. The band's vintage sound is evident from the opening track, "Swingin' in the Ozarks," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. Wood's skillful guitar playing is a highlight throughout the album, and his bandmates provide solid support with their tight arrangements and lively solos.
The album features a mix of original compositions and classic covers, with each track showcasing the band's love of swing music. "Jazz Me Blues" and "Sweet Georgia Brown" are particular standouts, with the band bringing their own twist to these well-known standards. The album also features guest appearances by some of the region's top jazz musicians, adding an extra layer of depth to the already impressive sound.
