The Void by Beardfish is an album that takes the listener on a progressive rock journey. The Swedish band brings together a mix of classic rock, jazz, and even some funk influences to create a unique sound that is both familiar and fresh.

The album is a concept piece that explores the idea of the void and the different ways people try to fill it. The lyrics are thought-provoking and introspective, touching on themes of love, loss, and the search for meaning.

Musically, the album is a tour de force. The band showcases their technical prowess without ever losing sight of the songwriting. The tracks are complex and intricate, but also catchy and memorable.

The album opens with the epic "Introduction", which sets the tone for the rest of the album. From there, the band takes the listener on a journey through different moods and styles. "Voluntary Slavery" is a bluesy number that features some great guitar work, while "Ode to the Rock'n'Roller" is a tribute to the classic rock bands of the past.

About Beardfish

Beardfish were a Swedish progressive rock band, founded in Gävle in 2001, and disbanded in 2016 due to "various issues". They won the Local Band of the Year award in Swedish newspaper Arbetarbladet's competition Local Heroes Galan, 2011.
