Blue Zoo - Cry Boy Cry

Review by Danielle Nicole

Blue Zoo's album Cry Boy Cry is a masterful work of art that showcases the band's unique sound and style. The album is filled with catchy melodies, intricate guitar work, and powerful vocals that draw the listener in from the first note. From the upbeat and energetic "John's Lost" to the hauntingly beautiful "Love Moves in Strange Ways," every track on this album is a standout. The band's ability to blend different genres, such as new wave, pop, and rock, into their music is impressive and creates a sound that is truly their own. The lyrics are heartfelt and relatable, touching on themes such as love, loss, and the struggles of everyday life. Cry Boy Cry is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates great music and wants to experience the unique sound of Blue Zoo.

It was a great song then. I remember dancing to it up my local indie/alternative night club in my overcoat - supercool then and supercool now! As is the song! Still got and wear the coat. It's the same but my looks have faded! Break on thro!

I loved this song so much when I was 12. I thought he had the best voice. I had it on single and taped it on one side of a C 60 tape from our 3 in 1 stereo, back to back so I didn’t have to rewind and used to play it on loop walking around our neighbourhood

I thought I'd imagined this song from my childhood, but no, it's here with a video that makes me want to avoid going to bed. It's not half bad the song, I only remembered the Cry Boy Cry bit.

Was mad over this at the time, funny how we hear the words and can sing along then as adults begin to question what was it really even about haha, not that it mattered then to me or even now, just curiosity lol

Great song but who would get out of bed by jumping over the highest part. Only in the 1980's.
