Notes
- All titles published by Damaged Pop Music
- Recorded at September Sound
- Rare solo album of the singer of the The Shake Spears, ranked with a two-"records" rarity rating in Pokora's "5001 Record Collector Dreams".
- Liner notes from the record sleeve (including typos):
- "INTRODUCING BRIAN.
- BRIAN was born on the 29th October 1943 in Salisbury (Wiltshire) England.
- Our now brillant young singer emigrated to Australia with his family at the age of four.
- In Australia, BRIAN was living in Sydney and Brisbane, as well as many other different towns. At school BRIAN was not exactly a "A" class pupil, he preferred singing to studying! So, at the age of fourteen, he went looking for his first job which turned out to be a junior storeman, and after that changed frequently. His jobs ranged from storeman to telegram boy, postman, milk-deliver, rigger, truck driver, ditch digger, etc. etc.
- BRIAN says "I was fired so many times because I used to do more singing than what I did work!".
- His singing career started when he entered a song contest, held by a T.V. company. He was the lucky winner, and from that day on, he was a regular attraction at all the teenage clubs, radio and T.V.
- While BRIAN was on tour, he sang at the coast al holiday resort "Surfers Paradise", until an English group invited him to come to the Continent.
- BRIAN's dream, his illusions of youth, became reality, a trip to Europe, first stop Brussels. A step closer to his home England.
- BRIAN toured throughout Belgium, France and Germany, for his manager and producer, Albert van Hoogten, who decided to record "Poinciana", Brian's first hit!
- Immediately, everybody realized the real qualities of BRIAN, and as we expected, "Poinciana" would be only the beginning of his career, but he should do much better. His recent recording of "Give and take" confirms the confidence we put in him.
- Have we no good reason to be somewhat proud to state the facility with which the always modest and smiling BRIAN climbs the rungs leading to the consecration.
- Should we not applaud his dynamism, his enthusiasm and his professional conscience.
- So, folks, step right up, sit right down and listen to this, BRIAN's first L.P."
- Brian Understand LP + Planes EP
- Recorded on a TASCAM 388 8 Track machine in West London, December 1991, except 'A Million Things' recorded in Dublin Ireland, June 1989, 'Knowing', 'Planes Stacking Up', 'The World Ended With You' and 'She Takes You Away', produced in South London by Ian Catt, June 1992.
