Haven't been listening to music lately, despite it being my life. Woke up wanting to hear this song, trying to explain how cool it was to my adult son. He humoured me, but his heart wasn't in it. Guess u had to have been there; perhaps not, tho. I had this single circa 81-82 on flexidisc, possibly out of Trouser Press. Every time u'd play it, under the music it sounded as if u were driving on grooved blacktop full of uneven gravel bits. Ah - the flexidisc sound. Still have song on old mixtape somewhere, w/XTC, OMD, Siouxie, & others. All that awful, Top 40, late-70's/early 80's caca inspired many a fed-up musician/listener to compose their own, resulting in some of the best punk, rock, electronic, noise, & (occasionally) new wave tunes ever written. For awhile there, for each worn out, crappy, commercial act, there were 10 kick-ass bands just coming into their own. What a great time for the creative mind!
