Review by Lu'luil maghfuuroh

Consummation's self-titled album is a haunting and atmospheric journey through the depths of blackened death metal. The Australian quartet masterfully blends elements of both genres to create a sound that is both brutal and beautiful.

The album opens with "Ophidian Crown," a track that immediately sets the tone for the rest of the record. The guitars are heavy and foreboding, while the drums are thunderous and precise. The vocals are guttural and intense, adding to the overall feeling of malevolence.

As the album progresses, tracks like "The Weightless Grip of Fire" and "Phosphor Libation" showcase the band's ability to seamlessly transition between blistering black metal riffs and more melodic death metal sections. The latter track, in particular, features some of the album's most memorable guitar work.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Great Solar Hunter." Clocking in at just over nine minutes, the song is an epic journey through a myriad of different moods and textures. The band expertly weaves together elements of doom, death, and black metal to create a truly captivating listening experience.
