Review by David Proctor

Damo Suzuki, the legendary Japanese musician and former lead singer of krautrock band Can, teamed up with Canadian psychedelic rockers The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol for a one-of-a-kind live performance at the Dominion Tavern in Ottawa on March 23rd, 2012. The result is an electrifying album that captures the raw energy and improvisational spirit of the collaboration.

From the opening track "The Dominion of Light," the listener is immediately transported into a sonic landscape of swirling guitars, pounding drums, and Suzuki's otherworldly vocals. The band's ability to shift seamlessly between tight grooves and free-form jamming is on full display throughout the album, with highlights including the hypnotic "Cosmic Dissonance" and the explosive "Burning the Money Man."

Suzuki's presence is felt throughout the album, as he weaves his way in and out of the band's sonic tapestry with his trademark yelps, whispers, and chants. At times, his vocals take on an almost shamanic quality, guiding the listener through the band's psychedelic journey.

This was a great show. I can't believe, to this day, we had such a legend in Ottawa, and he was accompanied by exactly the right band.

I bummed Damo a cigarette and as we stood there on the street; everything seemed to have rhythm, and we just nodded and smoked.
