Review by Ujang Suhendar

De Novo Dahl's album Shout is a vibrant and energetic offering that showcases the band's unique blend of indie rock and pop sensibilities. The album is a bold and colorful collection of songs that are sure to get listeners moving and grooving.

The album kicks off with the infectious title track "Shout," which sets the tone for the entire album with its catchy hooks and upbeat tempo. From there, the album never lets up, with tracks like "Be Your Man" and "Make Some Noise" delivering more of the same high-energy goodness.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Heartbreaker," which features an irresistible melody and a driving beat that is impossible not to dance along to. Other highlights include the funky "Dance Like David" and the anthemic "All Over Again."

About De Novo Dahl

Formed in Murfreesboro in 2001, originally a six-piece indie rock band with multiple songwriters and lead vocalists and a penchant for themed gig nights (wild west, beach party, etc) with obligatory audience participation. They produced one self-titled EP (2003) and one double album (Cats & Kittens, 2005) in this guise. They slimmed down to a five-piece after Derek Sandidge, Dave Carney and Mark Bond all left in the same week in 2006 (Bond to join in 2007), and new members were recruited. Mainstream success still eluded them, despite major touring and a new album in 2007, and by 2010, they shifted lineups again to become a nine-piece band and a more epic sound, producing one final album Tigerlion. Final Lineup: Joel J. Dahl (vocals, guitar) Serai Zaffiro (omnichord, vocals, percussion) Sage Alexander Dahl (Bass, vocals) Rod Kelly (keys, vocals) Phillip Hood (keys, vocals) Delta One (guitar, vocals) Delta Two (drums, percussion) Jerry Pentecost (drums, percussion) Dave Daeger (guitar, vocals)
