Def Leppard - Promises

Def Leppard's 1999 album Promises marked a significant shift in the band's sound, moving away from the hard rock of their earlier years and towards a more polished, radio-friendly sound. While some long-time fans may have been disappointed by this change, the album's commercial success and critical acclaim speak to its appeal to a wider audience.
The album's lead single, "Promises," is a catchy, upbeat track that showcases the band's knack for writing hooky choruses. Similarly, "Paper Sun" and "Goodbye" are both radio-friendly rock songs that feature the band's trademark harmonies and melodic guitar riffs.
However, the album's standout tracks are those that showcase a more experimental side of the band. "All Night" is a funky, danceable track with a prominent bassline and a catchy chorus. "21st Century Sha La La La Girl" is another highlight, featuring a driving beat and a memorable, sing-along chorus.
