Eddie Nash And His Fantastic One Man Band - Ghost Town Rag John Henry

Review by Julius Craig Jr

Eddie Nash And His Fantastic One Man Band have truly outdone themselves with their latest album, Ghost Town Rag John Henry. The album is a perfect blend of old-school blues and modern-day rock, with each track showcasing Nash's incredible talent as a musician.

The album's title track, "Ghost Town Rag John Henry," is a standout, with its catchy melody and infectious lyrics. Nash's vocals are soulful and gritty, perfectly complementing the bluesy guitar riffs and foot-stomping beats.

Other notable tracks on the album include "Ain't That a Shame," a slow-burning ballad that showcases Nash's impressive vocal range, and "Honey Bee Blues," a rollicking tune that will have listeners tapping their feet and nodding their heads along to the beat.

Ghost Town in the Sky is high on a mountaintop in the Great Smoky Mountains near Cherokee, North Carolina.

What a blast from the past! I, too, bought one of these autographed 45's at Ghost Town in the Sky.

It was 1972 or 3 when I went to visit my high school sweetheart who sang "You Can't Get a Man With a Gun" in the dance hall girls saloon show.

Sad to hear it's closed, but TripAdvisor says there are plans to reopen. ( But no Eddie or Roxie.)

I saw him at Ghost Town in The Sky. I was so amazed how he could do all the instrument at once. I have a tape somewhere.

Such a small world. This may be unbelievable but that was my nana's ex-husband.

I bought an Eddie Nash CD at the Ghost Town gift shop in 2007. It's a nice keepsake now that the place is closed.

Saw him at Ghost Town as a child in the 60's....my dad was amazed at his talent and said that he thought he was going to make it big. He even bought a 45 of "Ghost Town Rag" and had it signed. I would love to know where that went. What a good memory.

I worked with Eddie at Ghost Town in the Sky in 1986 & 87, & although he was a "good" musician, he was without a doubt the rudest man that I think I had ever encountered in my 18 years of life at that point. I don't mean to bash the man, but I only hope he got a lot more pleasant in his later years.

Eddie was a great artist and person. I had the pleasure of working at the same establishment as Eddie for about 8 years and he was also tallented in doing card tricks and a few other acts of magic. Truely a tallented man. He will be missed.

Thanks for posting this! I'm working on a One Man Band book and this is my chance to hear this very obscure 45. Too bad about the drum machine. I wonder what year this is, early 70's? Sorry I can't add much to what you have. He was a performer at Ghost Town in the Sky (hence the song title) in western NC, as was another slightly more famous one man band, Panhandle Pete.
