Review by Catharina Ekman

Sposalizio A Troldhaugen La Moldava I Preludi Poema Sinfonico is a classical album that features the works of three of the most celebrated composers of all time: Edvard Grieg, Bedřich Smetana, and Franz Liszt. The album is a symphonic masterpiece that takes listeners on a journey through different emotions, moods, and landscapes.

The album opens with Grieg's Sposalizio, a beautiful and romantic piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. It is followed by Troldhaugen, a lively and energetic piece that showcases Grieg's virtuosity as a composer. The album also features La Moldava, a symphonic poem by Smetana that is inspired by the river Vltava in the Czech Republic. The piece is a stunning depiction of the river's journey from its source in the mountains to its final destination in the city of Prague.

The album also includes several preludes by Liszt, which are some of the most challenging and technically demanding pieces in the classical repertoire. Liszt's Poema Sinfonico is a grand and majestic piece that is a perfect finale to the album.

Norwegian composer and pianist, born in Bergen, 15 June 1843, died 4 September 1907, also in Bergen. By borrowing rhythmic and melodic elements from Norwegian folk music, he created nationally romantic and patriotic music. Most famous are perhaps his compositions for the play "Peer Gynt" (written by Henrik Ibsen), which features pieces such as "Morning Mood" and "In The Hall of The Mountain King". Edvard Grieg is considered to be the greatest Norwegian composer of all time.
