Review by Andi Firmansyah

Egnekn's album "Lifeless Guitar Feedback With Themes Of Death Pornography Nazism Etc Used To Hide Lack Of Ideas" is a challenging and provocative release that pushes the boundaries of what is considered acceptable in music. The album is a chaotic and disorienting mix of distorted guitar feedback, industrial rhythms, and disturbing lyrics that explore themes of death, pornography, Nazism, and other taboo subjects.

The album is clearly designed to shock and provoke the listener, with Egnekn using extreme and offensive imagery to create a sense of unease and discomfort. The lyrics are often confrontational and aggressive, with references to violence and hate that are likely to offend many listeners.

Despite its controversial content, "Lifeless Guitar Feedback With Themes Of Death Pornography Nazism Etc Used To Hide Lack Of Ideas" is a well-crafted album that showcases Egnekn's skills as a musician and producer. The use of feedback and distortion creates a harsh and abrasive sound that perfectly matches the bleak and nihilistic tone of the lyrics.

  • Somewhere around 1994 after I had already been discouraged at the passing of the golden age of cassette networking (approx. 1978 - 1990 ) during which time there were many interesting people sending original audio works through the mail most of which were cassettes and welcomed, I responded to an ad in a fanzine by a cassette label asking for submissions from artists with perhaps a noticably similar sense of disappointment with the current state of affairs. Though I now forget what the label was looking for - I'll bet it used words like "original", "experimental" or "noise", but what I do remember is what they DID NOT want which was: "Lifeless guitar feedback with themes of death, pornography, nazism, etc. used to hide lack of ideas"
  • So I submitted a CDR with music I made and called it "Lifeless guitar feedback with themes of death, pornography, nazism, etc. used to hide lack of ideas" under the name of Egnekn. This is one of the only recordings I can may I have made in which I used th name Egnekn for something other than The Sound of Lamination. I apparently didn't make a copy of the recording I submitted and so I've even forgotten what it was I sent. I never got a response. Recently I found a copy of the cover and I thought I would share it by releasing it on A.T.M.O.T.W. .So here it is, try to imagine the music I made as you admire the cover! - egnekn montgomery 2009.
