Review by Ken Wiesner

The Emil Viklický Quartet has released an exceptional tribute to the famous Spanish painter, Joan Miró, with their latest album, Homage To Joan Miró. The quartet consists of Emil Viklický on piano, Petr Dvorský on bass, Laco Tropp on drums, and Stanislav Mitrovic on saxophone.

The album is a unique blend of jazz and classical music, with each track inspired by one of Miró's paintings. The quartet has done an incredible job of capturing the essence of each painting and translating it into music.

The album begins with "Harlequin's Carnival," which is inspired by Miró's painting of the same name. The track starts with a playful piano melody, which is soon joined by the saxophone, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere.

Another standout track is "The Hunter," which is inspired by Miró's painting of the same name. The track starts with a haunting saxophone melody, which is soon joined by the piano and bass, creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere.
