Review by Frans Verhoek

The Sun Hurts My Eyes by Epileptics is an intense and captivating album that showcases the band's raw talent and unique sound. The album is a mix of punk and post-punk with a hint of experimental rock, creating a unique and refreshing sound that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish.

The album features 10 tracks that are all equally impressive and showcase the band's versatility. The opening track "The End" sets the tone for the album with its fast-paced punk rock sound and catchy chorus. Other standout tracks include "Numb," which features a slower, more melancholic sound, and "The Sun Hurts My Eyes," which has a more experimental feel to it.

The vocals on the album are raw and emotional, perfectly complementing the music and adding an extra layer of intensity to the songs. The guitar work is equally impressive, with intricate riffs and solos that showcase the band's technical ability.

About Epileptics

LINEUP '22: razorz /main vocals, main production and sampling. 1853 (Lifelover, Neriak) / live DJ, sampling, backing vox, random elements. With disillusionment with the black metal scene in Mexico and the cancellation of an acoustic/neoclassical solo record, 18 year old Razorz starts experimenting with samplers, synths and drum machines, 2 months later recruits Amanda Failure, opens a Soundcloud profile and they begin to upload tracks ( even topping Bandcamp's alternative charts), days after their 1st song was posted online, russian label YOUTH1984 signs the band and releases a compilation with their few existing tracks. The particular mix of rave, indie, pop, noise and experimental music plus a very disturbing aesthetic, quickly got attention of american and european radio, websites and blogs. Collaborating on ads of controversial german clothing label 'Heroin Kids', doing a couple of apperances as headliners in festivals in Mexico, being opening act for The Prodigy in 2016 and receiving praise by members of high profile bands like Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson, plus remixing for Sleigh Bells, Atari Teenage Riot, european popstar Luna, Crossparty, Tying Tiffany, My Gold Mask, etc, expanded their sound flexibility and profile. Epileptics is currently evolving into heavy rythmic and futuristic urban textures. 'kleopatri' their latest single was released on March 27.
