Blake claimed 1883 as his birth year later in life, but official records, including his Social Security and passport application, give 1887 as the correct year. (Refer to FindaGrave and his Wikipedia bio). Died : February 12, 1983 in New York City, New York, USA Inducted in the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame in 1983. Inducted into the New York's American Theatre Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1996 the album "The Eighty-Six Years of Eubie Blake" (1969) was included by the National Recording Preservation Board in the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.
