The Five Harmaniacs 1926-27 is a delightful album that showcases the musical prowess of the Five Harmaniacs. The album comprises of 20 tracks that are a perfect blend of jazz, blues, and pop. The album was recorded in the late 1920s, and the sound quality is surprisingly good.
The album starts with the upbeat track "Dixie Stomp," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The Five Harmaniacs' unique style is evident in each track, and their harmonies are impeccable. - A collection of 78rpm sides. "What Did Romie-O-Juliet (When He Climbed Her Balcony?)" first was Edison 51902 and second from Gennett 6033. Labels on the disc are copyright 1974 but both the included liner notes booklet and the album cover are copyright 1978 so it doesn't appear to be a 1978 reissue of a 1974 release but? Included 8 page booklet has a history of the band and bibliography which includes 1978 releases again pointing to this being the original release. Track instrument credits are as they appear on the cover.
