This song just popped in my head tonight and I said to myself, dag, there's like 7-8 artists made this song. Played the first one and by golly this is it. I guess I was around 7-8 years old when it came out. I just love music! Now what's the next one that's gonna pop up in my head.

Such a classic . But if you check out Searching for my love by Bobby Moore and the Rhythm Aces you will see that Bert Berns pinched the opening and uses it throughout the song . Still love it though.

Freddie Scott was my best friend and business partner for seven years until the day he passed. We owned a recording studio together and we were inseparable I was with him everyday. I will tell you first hand his talent was unsurpassed by any R&B singer on the planet. His delivery was impeccable. Listen to the Song Cry To Me. He starts the song with a whisper and builds and builds emotion until you feel like it cant any further and then you get hit with emotion ten times stronger than you just heard. And the he gives you a scream that can be heard around the world then he calms you down and then builds again just to bring you even higher than you were before. He used to tell me you have to surprise them every ten seconds hold their interest have them beg for more and then shock them. He was a master at his craft. So much so that artists around the world studied his delivery. Luther Vandross stated that he studied Freddie to develop his style. We did a show at Madison Square Garden and when Alicaia Keys learned he was on the bill she literally went crazy with enthusiasm. Van Morrison said Freddie was his favorite R&B singer and asked him to record his biggest hit Brown Eyed Girl on his Vanthology album which he did. He was well respected by his peers as one of the greatest singers in the business however the general public barely recognized his name.. I used to tease him and call him Freddie who. If you played his songs however they would recognize it. He had humble success and never made any real money he is best known for his his hit Hey Girl which really did not feature his vocal abilities. It landed #10 on the Billboards National Chart and was covered by countless artists including Donnie Osmond, Billy Joel, Micheal McDonald, Ray Charles and a host of others. His song Are you lonely for me baby
