The Graeme Edge Band, Adrian Gurvitz - Kick Off Your Muddy Boots

Review by Brett Syer

The album "Kick off Your Muddy Boots" by Graeme Edge Band, featuring Adrian Gurvitz, is a classic rock gem that showcases the talents of its musicians. Released in 1975, the album features a blend of rock, blues, and folk influences that create a unique and compelling sound.

The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Bareback Rider," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The standout track, "We Like to Do it," is a bluesy number that features Gurvitz's soulful vocals and Edge's impressive drumming skills.

Other highlights on the album include the ballad "In Dreams," which showcases Gurvitz's ability to deliver heartfelt lyrics, and the energetic "The Tunnel." The album closes with the epic "Have You Ever Wondered," which features an extended guitar solo by Gurvitz that serves as a fitting conclusion to the album.

I have it on vinyl too and nothing to play it on. About to sell it on Ebay but it's real scratched up. A pity never Adrian Gurvitz never go the guitar hero recognition he deserves.

I still have it on vinyl -- just nothing in the house that plays vinyl lol!

Both Graeme's solo albums held up well over the years. A pity they never received any substantial airplay.

This is awesome. I couldn't get it off of an old 8 Track tape I had it on and have been searching for this album for years.

Graeham Edge passed away today. Most know him for being the poet and drummer of The Moody Blues... but he also had some albums of personal musical self expression that are pure gold ...like this one.

These solo albuns Edge did with this band are great, much better than the ones Lodge and Thomas did! They have more punchiness, more rock blood and it´s a pity that he didn´t bring more of these qualities to the Moodies sound.

It’s heady. It’s the lyric. It’s the guitar. It’s the boogie.

This has been my favorite guitar solo since I was 14. I am 60..... The lick at 2:00 made me want to play guitar.

This was a favorite album to listen to with headphones, on a recliner in the dark...and considering the era, was equally impressed with the quality of the recording engineering, as with the music.
