Review by Aswin Tei

Stax Of Sax is an exceptional album by legendary American saxophonist Herb Geller. Released in 1962, the album is a perfect representation of Geller's unique style and musical prowess.

The album is a compilation of jazz standards and original compositions, all of which showcase Geller's impressive saxophone skills. The tracks are arranged in a way that takes the listeners on a musical journey, starting with the upbeat and lively "The Lady Is A Tramp" and ending with the soulful and melancholic "Blues Mood."

The album features a stellar lineup of musicians, including pianist Kenny Drew, bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, and drummer Jorn Elniff. The chemistry between the musicians is evident in every track, creating a cohesive sound that is both captivating and enjoyable.

One of the standout tracks on the album is Geller's original composition "Stax Of Sax." The track features a funky and groovy melody that perfectly captures the essence of the soul and R&B music that was popular at the time. Another highlight is the beautiful ballad "Round Midnight," which showcases Geller's ability to convey emotion through his playing.
