About Hjördis Schymberg
Swedish coloratura and lyric soprano active on the opera stage and in concert halls between 1934 and 1968, born April 24, 1909 in Gustavsberg on Alnön in Medelpad, died September 8, 2008 in Stockholm.
Engagement at the Kungliga Operan (Royal Swedish Opera) in Stockholm 1935-1959, with guest appearances 1959-1968.
She recorded c. 20 titles for HMV and Telefunken.
