Recorded Live at the Docklands LondonAbout Jarre
Jean-Michel Jarre (August 24, 1948, Lyon, France) is a French composer of electronic music. Son of , a composer of film music, who has written the scores to such films as Lawrence Of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago, among many others. He is well-known for staging spectacular outdoor concerts of his music, which feature laser displays and fireworks, and three of which appeared in the Guinness Book of Records for their large audiences. One of his albums, Musique pour supermarchés had a print run on only a single copy, which was auctioned to raise money for French artists. In 1986 he worked with NASA; astronaut Ronald McNair was to play the saxophone part of Jarre's piece Rendez-Vous VI while in orbit on board the Space Shuttle Challenger. It was to have been the first piece of music recorded in space, for the album Rendez-Vous. After the Challenger disaster of January 28, 1986, the piece was recorded with a different saxophonist, retitled Ron's piece and the album dedicated to the seven Challenger astronauts. He is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

What a night! Princess Di was there and it absolutely bucketed down. So exciting that he'd come to England finally. The Wembley concert later didn't have half the atmosphere. So talented and so good looking!

For some reason I don't think any of this is being played live... I'm a fan but the solo's from Dominic Perrier sound exactly the same as the material from the album.. Hank Marvin's part on London kid is exactly the same as well..

Me and a friend sneaked up there from Chigwell in Essex, on the Saturday night there was no DLR Railway that night, we managed to walk from Stratford then get a bus to Custom House, walked over a building site with my new Timberlands on, totally ruined with the soaking wet mud, finally got near the concert which was at the Royal Victoria dock in the Docklands, watched the concert managed to get home, soaking wet, then our parents found out that we wasn't staying at each others house, both were grounded, we were only 12/13 at the time, but what a concert.I remember watching Sunday nights show from my bedroom window, we were quite high up, we could hear the music and see the lasers from Chigwell. Amazing

Agree with the others about Mike Mansfield's production. Numerous songs omitted and not the best in terms of angles and so on but I'll let them off because of the weather haha. I'd also say they redeemed themselves with the Paris La Defense production.

I was there on the first night. Got soaked from the beautiful British weather. Didn't ruin a fantastic concert though.
