The Joe Perry Project - Let The Music Do The Talking

japanesegourmet

Review by Yumi Tanaka

Let The Music Do The Talking, the debut album by Joe Perry Project, is a hard-hitting rock masterpiece that showcases the legendary guitarist's skills as a songwriter, vocalist, and performer. The album features ten tracks that blend classic rock, blues, and heavy metal influences into a cohesive and powerful sound.

From the opening title track, which features Perry's signature guitar riffs and raw vocals, to the bluesy ballad "East Coast, West Coast," the album is a showcase of Perry's versatility as a musician. Other standout tracks include the riff-heavy "Conflict of Interest" and the anthemic "Rockin' Train."

Throughout the album, Perry's guitar work is front and center, with blistering solos and intricate riffs that demonstrate his mastery of the instrument. But he also proves to be a skilled songwriter, crafting memorable hooks and catchy choruses that stick in the listener's head long after the album is over.

Song like this makes me wanna grab my shotgun & a bottle of Jack, head upstairs and start blowing holes in the roof.

I was in a band with Ralph Morman when we were teenagers. He was always a great singer.

Wow, I only ever knew the Aerosmith version, which is a great song, but this version blows it away! Feels like I found a lost gem stumbling onto this album. And I hear Mr. Perry is touring this summer...

I remember how ecstatic I was when I bought this album when it came out. I was 16 and banging my head as I played it daily for quite a long time. It is solid rock in my opinion.

Great version, but I prefer the production of Ted Templeman on Done With Mirror's and Steven Tyler's voice. I also like the 80s guitar sounds more than 70s guitar sounds. Still, Great Job Joe Perry!

The original singer added a special touch to JPP music
The late Ralph Mormon on vocals, after they let him go their music sounded almost neutered. This version blows Aerosmith's attempt at it away
RIP Ralph

Joe Perry Project played a lot in Michigan when I was growing up there in the 70's. I was a big fan - I had both records and saw them live a few times too. This is their best song imho.

I understand that Mr. Morman didn’t have the longest career as a frontman, but man did he ever nail it on this song.

The Aerosmith version is the best, but the version of Perry is good. The same thing when Bruce Dickinson recorded bring your daughter to the Slaughter, the Iron maiden version is better.
