Why does this this show a 1994 release date?? It's from 1957, and was also done as "Roses are Blooming" by The Silva-tones. Rockabilly with an accordion! The original country version is by Doc Williams.

Un venero inacabable de fantásticos recuerdos nos suministra YouTube, como el de esta noche -primaveral de Buenos Aires- cuando pensabamos en Joe Therrien Jr. y los convocamos al aire con su espectacular disco del 56-57, que nos llegó a la Argentina en el invierno de 1958 y fue muy poco difundido (puesto que la licenciada local de Coral USA era aquí un sello de escasa importancia), con ese salvaje sonido del hillbilly de la Nueva Inglaterra, su curiosa formación con acordeón a piano, cajón, contrabajo (al estilo de los Crickets de Buddy Holly) y los coros, con tres hermanitas gemebundas, pero bien afinadas; es un disco interesante, digno de escuchar y hacer oir. I'm from Springfield MA and I was in Jr. high when I first heard Phil Dee play this song on WJKO in East Longmeadow back in 1957. Boy does that bring me back to that time. The studio was right on Shaker Rd and kids would blow their horn as they drove by and Phil would give them a shout out. All the kids listen to Phil Deeee! Later he went on to WPTR in Albany, WDEW in Westfield and then WHYN 560 in Springfield where I had the pleasure of working with him.

aahhh....the best. This side made charts locally in Rochester , NY (although Therrien was from Massachusetts). The flip side " Hey Babe, Let's Go Downtown" was bigger in the Boston area. Great sound!
