This is the mono issue of the original stereo recording Columbia SAX2415 , it is also a fantastic performance, but if you can find a copy in good condition of the early 1956 mono recording CX1379, just get it, that is a great performance. Aside that, I will never understand why British Columbias sound so good and HMV pressings sounds terrible crackly since, if I'm not wrong, both were pressed in the same plant.

Hi Bob, This is quite a stately version but with a gentle progression, I like it. I must admit to having numerous versions including mono and I never tire of them. Just an aside, I have just purchased a Pickering XV15, stylus unknown but after listening to all of YouTube samples, including your own, I am really looking forward to receiving to it.
