Lambchop's latest album, FLOTUS Wine Box, is a departure from their previous work. This album explores new territory, incorporating electronic instruments and sounds, and the result is a fresh, innovative sound that is both intriguing and captivating.
The album opens with the track "In Care of 8675309," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its haunting, atmospheric sound. The use of electronic instruments is most evident on tracks like "Directions to the Can," which features a pulsing beat and distorted vocals that create a sense of unease.
Throughout the album, Lambchop's frontman Kurt Wagner's distinctive voice is front and center, but it is often manipulated in interesting ways, adding to the experimental nature of the music.
One standout track is "The Hustle Unlimited," which features a driving beat and soaring vocals that build to a powerful climax. Another highlight is "NIV," which has a dreamy, almost hypnotic quality to it.
