Larry Klimas' album "Retro Spect" is a delightful collection of jazz music that takes listeners on a journey through the genres of swing, bebop, and fusion. The album features Klimas' virtuosic saxophone playing, which is both technically impressive and emotionally expressive.
The opening track, "Swingin' with the Duke," is a tribute to the legendary Duke Ellington, and sets the tone for the rest of the album with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody. The second track, "Bebop Bounce," showcases Klimas' improvisational skills, as he effortlessly weaves in and out of complex chord progressions.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Funky Fusion," which blends elements of funk and jazz into a groove-heavy masterpiece. Klimas' saxophone playing is perfectly complemented by the rhythm section, which includes bassist Jimmy Earl and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta.
