About Loggins & Messina
was working as an independent record producer for Columbia Records when he met , a young singer songwriter, in 1970.
They recorded some of Loggins' songs in Messina's living room and secured him an albums deal with Columbia.
Loggins' debut was to be produced by Messina, whose name would help introduce Loggins to his own established audience.
However, by the record's completion in 1971, such was Messina's contribution that it became a joint release, .
The album's success led them to formalise the duo, Loggins & Messina.
Recording a further six studio and two live albums, the pair toured extensively before parting amicably in 1976.
Loggins & Messina began touring together again in 2005.

Such a great hip twist to the Classic .... I like this one AND the original. Kenny & Company are so smooth here, the melody could have gone on another 2-3 minutes with NOOOO complaints from me .... LOL

This song was written by Panda Suxby-Grisbiss, the Swiss writer of nonsense fiction based on the founding of cheese. It was originally meant to be the basis of the novel, "Hey! Tu Shpirito Patre!" but Pope Sixtus III bought the rights for his family's 30th reunion.

The "Clyde" version is Classic, but I always felt these two got it right, also ... have been looking for it here and there, so huge THANX, Mr. Orr !

Glad you liked it, Gerard. I posted this direct from my vinyl record and used the information as it was listed on that 12" piece of plastic ;) After looking into it, the writer in question is actually "Benjamin Franklin Peay" ;) I've always loved the song, and the album that it is on :)
