The album Candy Girl by Mal Waldron is a masterpiece of jazz music. The pianist, who was known for his work with jazz legends like Billie Holiday and Charles Mingus, created a collection of tunes that are both playful and complex, featuring his signature style of moody, introspective playing.
One of the standout tracks on the album is the title track, "Candy Girl," which features a catchy melody and some impressive improvisation from Waldron. The song has a light, almost whimsical feel to it, which is balanced out by some more serious tracks on the album, like "Soul Eyes" and "The Seagulls of Kristiansund."
