Mater Thallium's latest album, Abandoned By The Sun, showcases their unique blend of heavy metal and progressive rock. From the opening track, "The Last Day of the Sun", the listener is transported into a world of dark and brooding music that is both haunting and beautiful.
The album is a journey through a post-apocalyptic landscape, with songs like "The Road to Nowhere" and "Ashes and Dust" painting vivid pictures of a world left in ruins. The intricate guitar work and powerful vocals of lead singer Maria Voutyra are complemented by the solid rhythm section of bassist Nikos Nikolaou and drummer George Kogkos.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Void", a haunting ballad that showcases Voutyra's impressive vocal range. The song builds to a powerful climax, with the guitar and drums driving the emotion to its peak.
