About The Merseysippi Jazz Band With Clinton Ford

First established in February 1949, the band is probably the oldest in the UK to still be playing regularly. They are strong believers that there music should entertain and this has always been band policy, whether home or abroad, Southport or Sacremento. The music varies from New Orleans, via San Francisco to the U.K. Over the years the band has met and played with a great number of jazz stars, including Louis Armstrong, many of whom have become good friends. The current personnel is John Higham  trumpet; Peter Fryer  trombone; Dave Dixson  reeds; Malcolm Hogarth  piano; Dave Rigby  guitar/banjo; Isabel Toner  bass; Pete Darwin  drums.
