The Miller Stain Limit - Radiate

fhoering

Review by Fritz B. Hoering

Radiate, the latest album by Miller Stain Limit, is a must-listen for fans of alternative rock. The band's unique sound and raw energy are on full display in this 12-track album.

From the opening track "Ghosts" to the closing "Radiate," the album takes the listener on a journey through a range of emotions. The lyrics are introspective and thought-provoking, touching on themes of love, loss, and personal growth.

The standout tracks include "Waves," with its catchy guitar riffs and memorable chorus, and "All I Need," a slower, more contemplative ballad that showcases the band's versatility.

Miller Stain Limit's musicianship is impressive throughout the album, with tight rhythms and dynamic guitar work. The vocals are also noteworthy, with lead singer Emily Miller's powerful voice soaring over the instrumentals.

Man, this name just popped in my head after years of trying to think of what the name of this band was! Woohoo! What a find. Takes me back many years. Such great music in this era.

FM 96 from London, Ontario played this back in the late 90's. I went and purchased the album not to long after I heard it.

Saw these guys open for Wide Mouth Mason at The Generator Cabaret in Prince George BC in 1998. These guys stole the show. Great live show, the live performance sounded like the album (difficult to do). The energy was amazing. Had to special order the CD after playing the first disc to death. Still have it and it lives in my car for nostalgic road trips.

So here’s my story for this song. 1997-98 my friends and I are all super into music and we are band geeks in grade 8. So we all go to our first concert ever - Wide Mouth Mason all ages show at the now defunct Side Track in Edmonton. Miller Stain Limit opens for them. We are all blown away and buy their CD’s. Subsequently every following school band trip we listen to the songs from this album on our discmans religiously. “Radiate” officially becomes the soundtrack to our coming of age, saying goodbye to friends, and leaving the innocence of Junior High for the intimidation and wolf-pack mentality of High School. Listening to this song brings back a barrage of memories.
