The US 1959 hit version posted here, is an alternate take from the original '53 Abbott session which has a SHORTER intro than the 1953 US country hit version. It is also a faster tempo, although I'm guessing it was intentionally speeded-up by Guyden for the 1959 US single rather than being recorded at that speed. As I have noted on 45prof's upload of the original 1953 hit version posted elsewhere on YT, the version of this song issued in Australia in 1959 on London label differs from the other versions in that it features the 1953 version with overdubbed hand claps and bongos. IMO, the overdubs were added by Guyden after they acquired the Abbott masters from Fabor Robison.

What brought it back in 1959?

My grandfather would play this for me when I was a kid in 1976. The flip side of the record was gigolo.

Oh my goodness!! My dear Dad played this 45 when I was a little girl ! He said he and his army buddies would sing this song when he was in WWII. I used to dance around doing the hula while he sang it. Dad is gone, but I still have our precious memories ♥️

Good grief...I never thought I'd hear this again. I actually had this on a 45 back in the 50's. Used to drive my friends crazy when I played it. Thank you for the memories!!!!
