Nicolai Masur - Planets

Review by Pat Brown

Nicolai Masur's latest album, Planets, is a mesmerizing journey through the outer reaches of the universe. The album features 10 tracks, each inspired by a different planet in our solar system. Masur's mastery of electronic music is on full display here, with each track taking the listener on a unique sonic journey.

From the ethereal opening track "Mercury" to the pulsing rhythms of "Jupiter," Masur's music is both otherworldly and deeply human. The album is at times hauntingly beautiful, as in the shimmering "Venus," and at others, propulsive and energizing, as in the driving beat of "Mars."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Saturn," which features a haunting melody played on a vintage synthesizer, layered over a driving rhythm. The result is a piece of music that is both hypnotic and deeply emotional.

Throughout the album, Masur's attention to detail is evident. The production is crisp and clear, with each instrument and sound carefully placed in the mix. The result is an album that sounds both modern and timeless.
