Nouvelle Vague's self-titled album is a refreshing and inventive take on classic new wave and post-punk hits. With lush arrangements and dreamy vocals, the French collective's interpretations of songs like Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and The Clash's "Guns of Brixton" are both faithful to the originals and entirely new. The album's standout tracks include a haunting rendition of The Cure's "A Forest" and a playful take on Dead Kennedys' "Too Drunk to Fuck." Nouvelle Vague's debut album is a must-listen for fans of both new wave and French pop.
