About Nyack
4-piece indie band named after their hometown - Nyack, New York - were around in 1994/95 with childhood pals Craig Sterns and Kim Collister. Nyack were signed to Echo after critical success as Aenone in the US and released 2 EPs and an album but Echo couldn't afford to keep them on any longer as they "spent all their money". Echo were also unsure of how to market them after hearing the demos for the second album. These then surfaced under the name of Fork with the album "Alien Fairies". Currently they are known as The Nuevos.

I still have this on a signed 10" from when I saw Nyack play the Flapper & Firkin in Birmingham, UK. I think the first 10 of us through the door got one along with a 7" by a band called Schtum...

The album was released on Echo and contains an interactive program with some band's footage and video quite ridiculous by modern standards. The disc itself is pretty elaborate and funky it features several hovering UFO's , the plastic case is lime green with bubbles inside it. The music is really smart, very icy and cool, still sounds great even today. Craig Cairns's vocal is sophisticated and sexy. An underrated one off , but I guess it makes it more precious. For true connoisseurs only.
