Palms On Fire's latest album, Birds in Supermarket, is a unique and captivating experience. From the opening track, "Supermarket Blues," the listener is transported into a world of quirky characters and vivid imagery. The band's use of unconventional instrumentation and unexpected arrangements creates a sound that is both fresh and nostalgic.

The album's title track, "Birds in Supermarket," is a standout, with its hypnotic rhythm and haunting vocals. The lyrics are poetic and thought-provoking, touching on themes of consumerism and the loss of nature. "Moonlit Drive" is another standout, with its dreamy atmosphere and ethereal vocals.

Palms On Fire's musicianship is impressive throughout the album, with each member contributing to the intricate textures and layers of sound. The production is also noteworthy, with a warm and organic feel that complements the band's eclectic style.

About Palms On Fire

Palms on Fire is an English-language indie pop band from Russia with a fondness for hazy vocals and jangly guitars. Formed in Izhevsk in 2009, they soon released EP #1, which was followed by 2011's EP #2, 2012's Call Me EP, and 2014's Cars EP. A year later, the band signed with Shelflife, which issued their debut long player, Where Are the Grey Clouds Going?, in early 2016. Both wispy and rhythmic, the album was recorded back in Russia but written while the band was staying in India, where they added drummer Kishan Balaji to the lineup of Anna Kislova, Max Kislov, and Konstantin Korolev. ~ Marcy Donelson
