From Macfarlane & Crossland's book, "Perry Como": "Despite 'Billboard's' lack of enthusiasm, the disc took Perry Como to #1 in the 'Billboard' chart for the first time. It stayed in the top spot for an amazing 10-week stint from September 15 to November 10. 1945, and also topped both the Disk Jockey and the Juke Box charts for nine weeks. It was the best selling record of 1945, Como's first Gold record and the biggest hit he would ever have. The song would be a regular part of Como's repertoire to the end of his career, and there would be few, if any, better examples of his vocal art. Its success changed his life and career."

just love this singer and the song brings back happy and sad memories of my mumplaying this to my dad on the piano mum was a brilliant pianist and its sad because my dad was in his sick bed and he died just a few months after this with cancer ,i was 7 and my little sister just 2 yrs old xx

This brings so many memories. I remember when Perry had a 15 minute tv show. Most people do not realize in the early days of tv there were a few 15 minute shows. That didn't last long as they gave Perry an hour show. I loved his voice and casual style. A true gentleman.
