The Rhoda Scott Trio - Hey Hey Hey

Review by Lisa BradleHark

The Rhoda Scott Trio's latest album, Hey Hey Hey, is a delightful mix of jazz, blues, and soul. The album features Rhoda Scott on the Hammond organ, Pierre Christophe on the piano, and Julie Saury on the drums. The trio's chemistry is evident throughout the album, with each musician pushing and supporting the others in equal measure.

The opening track, "Hey Hey Hey," sets the tone for the album with its upbeat tempo and catchy melody. The trio's tight rhythm section provides the perfect backdrop for Scott's soulful organ playing. The album's other tracks are equally impressive, with each musician given ample space to showcase their skills.

One standout track is "St. Louis Blues," which features Scott's masterful organ playing and Saury's dynamic drumming. The trio's rendition of the classic blues number is both faithful to the original and refreshing in its own right.

Mom always played Ms.Scott"s album growing up in the 1960"s, and made this her signature song with her own unique style singing at various events in the New England area, a classic tune that is timeless
