The King Is Gone by Ronnie McDowell is a tribute album to the legendary Elvis Presley. The album features 10 tracks, all of which are covers of Presley's classic hits. McDowell's voice is smooth and powerful, and he captures the essence of the King's music perfectly.

WOW I haven't heard this song since it came out .I remember we had the record in a 45 .Growing up I always remembered the song but I had never heard it on the radio ,TV,someone playing it,until now. 1/23/21 and that's just because I was watching some Elvis stuff on you tube and I decided to type in the name of the song and it popped up.and yes I still and always remembered all the words.It was great to hear this song again after all these years.

LOL....yeah. Saying that the closest to Elvis is Ronnie McDowell kinda puts ur opinion into perspective. Ronnie sounds good when he does his own country songs, but when he does Elvis, it isn't pretty. And yes, I think Orion sounded closest to Elvis no matter how many u name. This comes from someone who has extensively studied Elvis and has an Uncle that worked closely for Elvis in the 70's....close enough to have received a horseshoe diamond ring amongst many other gifts from E.
