(May 7, 1922 March 3, 1984) American rockabilly and country pianist, composer and singer born James Faye Hall. Brother of bluegrass musicians and . The older brother, Roy Hall, died in a car accident in 1943 and James assumed his brother's name from then on. Also performed and recorded with Elvis Presley (1954).
