Rufige Kru - Ghosts

nkmanahan

Review by Nathan Manahan

Ghosts by Rufige Kru is a haunting and atmospheric album that showcases the duo's talent for creating dark and brooding drum and bass tracks. The album is a mix of old and new productions, with some tracks dating back to the early 2000s, while others are more recent compositions.

The album opens with the title track "Ghosts," a moody and atmospheric tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The track features eerie pads, haunting vocals, and a slow, rolling beat that creates a sense of unease. Other standout tracks include "Dark Rider," a heavy, bass-driven tune that is sure to get the dancefloor moving, and "Rider 2," a more experimental track that features glitchy beats and distorted vocals.

Throughout the album, Rufige Kru shows off their production skills, creating intricate drum patterns and layering atmospheric soundscapes over their beats. The result is an album that is both dark and beautiful, with each track drawing the listener deeper into the duo's twisted world.

"You're talking about things I've done"
That's a great spin off of the original

As far as I'm aware the original track was one of the first to implement changing the pitch of a sample without changing the tempo which you can hear on the drum break. Hence the "You're talking about things I haven't done yet" quote.

Amazing stuff!

The original was a game changer for sure.i remember being in astoria late 92 and on way home that was the tune we were talking about.the techniques used were so different to most of the hardcore we were hearin at that time.this Is OK but think original does it best.
