Hoyt Axton's original 1963 cut was superb. This cover by a short-lived R & B band based in Essex, England is also superb. Indeed, I think it would make a fine addition to the soundtrack of the 'Supernatural' series.

I thought after 48 years, several instruments and many bands I'd have another bash at this. I have included photo's and details of the band on my channel - ItsPapaGeeMusic.
Sometime after the Shades of Blue folded I gigged with Fritz in a band named Buddhist Monday with Fritz on lead guitar and vocals and myself on lead vocals and blues harmonica, but I never bumped into any of the other members of the Shades of Blue again.
I'd like to thank everybody for your interest and kind comments.

I am proud to say that my dad is the drummer on this record. Today is his 66th birthday and he is over the moon that i found this today. We've even just had a live version of it from him :0)
