Review by Carlos Rohrer

Anthology by She Notes The Chariots is a must-have for any fan of indie rock music. The album is a compilation of the band's best works, showcasing their unique sound that blends elements of punk, pop, and alternative rock.

The album starts off strong with the upbeat and catchy "The Great Escape," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The songs that follow are equally impressive, with each track showcasing the band's impressive songwriting skills and musical talent.

One standout track on the album is "Paper Dolls," which features beautiful harmonies and a haunting melody that will stay with you long after the song has ended. Another standout track is "The Way You Move," which features a driving beat and infectious chorus that will have you singing along in no time.

About She Notes The Chariots

She Notes The Chariots was a fairly short-lived emoviolence/screamo band from St. Louis, Missouri. Active from late 2001 to mid-2003, there were several lineup changes in the band throughout its existence, with Matt Tenney being the only constant member. Here is the band's history according to Derek: In the Fall of 2001, Derek Button met and started a band with Matt Tenney. Derek was on vocals, Matt on guitar, and Derek's brother Drew on drums. They practiced for around a month, writing one song before Matt quit for personal reasons. After a couple months, Derek saw Matt at a show and they talked afterwards about wanting to do the band thing again. During this time Derek had also met Brian Potts at school, who wanted to start a band as well. So together they decided to start back up, this time with Brian replacing Derek on vocals and Derek picking up the bass (which he didn't know how to play). So as they practiced, Matt taught Derek how to play the bass until they could find someone to replace him. Matt's friend Bryan wanted to be in the band and played bass, so he joined and Derek shifted over to second vocalist. In late 2001 or early 2002 the band started looking for a second guitar player and came across Shagy, who joined the band after coming to one of their practices. With this lineup the band wrote three or four songs, and in March of 2002 recorded a demo at Penny Studios. This demo was handed out to a select few people and received fairly harsh criticism. It was about this time that Brian left the band and all the songs the band had written were entirely scrapped. After a bunch of practice, the band finally came up with four brand new songs. They set up at least six shows over the summer of 2002, though only one of them happened. The date was July 18, and SNTC were to open for , , and . The show was sold out and SNTC played their set successfully (minus Matt breaking both guitars on stage). The band officially went on a three-month hiatus after this show, during which Matt and Bryan disappeared from contact. The band tried practicing with just Derek, Drew, and Shagy, but when that didn't work out too well, they decided to wait for the band to finally get back together. They started practicing, played another show in November, and decided to record again (this time at Tiny Apertures). The band had a great experience with the guys working there. They finished recording their four-song demo, aptly titled "Winter Demo
