Various - 72 Original Hits

Review by Purin Inoue

The album 72 Original Hits by Various is a comprehensive collection of some of the most iconic songs from the 1950s and 1960s. Featuring a diverse range of genres, including rock and roll, pop, and soul, this album is a must-have for any music lover who appreciates the classics.

The album kicks off with Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock," which sets the tone for the rest of the collection. Other notable tracks include The Everly Brothers' "Wake Up Little Susie," The Beach Boys' "Surfin' USA," and Otis Redding's "Respect."

One of the standout features of this album is the quality of the recordings. Each track sounds crisp and clear, making it easy to get lost in the music. The album also features a great mix of upbeat and slower songs, providing a nice balance throughout.

I'm in tears as I remember how much I loved listening to the radio in the 70's, and how I saw it decline to hard rock and awful songs without melodies as time has passed.

The 70’ was a great decade for music. Although there’s a few songs in this list I would have left out. But you can’t please everyone.?

Yes American Pie not being included is a definite omission. It spent 4 weeks at 1 in Jan/Feb 1972. Its considered one of the greatest songs in rock n roll history.

They got Joe Walsh playing on Take it Easy, LOL. HE didn't even join the Eagles until 1975.

Based on this bunch of limp songs, no wonder the Sex Pistols happened. Heart of Gold was the best of all of these and I can See Clearly Now was a close second.
