Winter Of Apokalypse - Winter Of The Apokalypse

Review by Rodrigo Jaroszewski

Winter Of The Apokalypse's self-titled album is a haunting and atmospheric journey through the depths of black metal. The band expertly blends traditional black metal elements with more experimental and avant-garde sounds to create a truly unique listening experience.

From the opening track "Intro" to the closing song "Outro," the album takes the listener on a dark and brooding journey, with each song flowing seamlessly into the next. The vocals are raw and aggressive, perfectly complementing the intense instrumentation.

One standout track is "The Black Crown," which features a haunting piano melody that adds an eerie atmosphere to the already chilling sound. The use of atmospheric elements throughout the album creates a sense of unease and dread, adding to the overall feeling of darkness.

About Winter Of Apokalypse

Winter Of Apokalypse was formed by the two founding members of Thy Infernal, Armageddon and Slut. They had recorded an untitled demo as far back as 1999, when Thy Infernal was still operational. When Thy Infernal split up in 2002, Armageddon and Slut decided to pursue Winter Of Apokalypse full time. The line-up at this time was Armageddon (drums), Slut (guitar), Fascist (guitar), Alkoholik (bass), and Hell (vocals). They released a demo in 2003. Their first full-length, "Solitary Winter Night

I don't know if it's a different vocalist or just way different production, but this doesn't hold a candle to Solitary Winter Night. SWN is hands-down one of the best Black Death albums EVER. Unfortunately, I don't see them ever topping SWN....
