Alexandrov Ensemble (Краснознаменный Ансамбль Песни И Пляски СА / מקהלת הצבא האדום), most commonly known as the Red Army Choir. Founded by in 1928. The ensemble contains a male choir, an orchestra and a dance troop from the Russian army. Conductors: (Alexander Vasilevich Alexandrov) (1926-1946) Борис Александрович Александров () (1946-1987) (Anatoly Maltsev) (1987-1992) Игорь Германович Агафонников () (1992-1993) Дмитрий В. Сомов (Dmitry Somov) (1993-2002) (Leonid Malev) (2003-2016) (Gennady Sachenyuk) (2012-2016, 2017-present) 63 members of the ensemble as well as artistic director Valery Khalilov were killed in a Russian Defence Ministry aircraft crash into the Black Sea on 25 December 2016.
