Japanese country, minyo rock, kayōkyoku singer, actor and songwriter. Born November 28, 1935 in Sakhalin. Died May 9, 1989.
First performed and recorded under his real name name ϊܰ ୣफ (Masao Kikuchi), before changing his name to ߎ ͓ߢ (Takuya Jō) in 1966.
His elder brother is the composer (Jun Kitahara) and his uncle the lyricist ෝƅື ().
He debuted as a country western singer and was a member of The Western Caravan.
